How many electrolytes are you supposed to have? ?

I was recently admitted to the ER for cardiac arrest caused by low electrolytes and dehydration. They wouldn't tell me anything when I asked them stuff because I'm only 16 and I guess they think I'm not important enough to know. Anyway, I saw the numbers where they had my electrolytes and found the numbers 2, 9, 13, and 3. How many are you supposed to have?

Problem with daughter in law?

I am devastated and need to share my story and seek advise . About two years ago after knowing his girlfriend for only 2 weeks my son went on a holiday with my husband and my daughter to Europe and staid in touch with his girlfriend On a day he returned I arranged party and she was there too beautiful and lovely and they wore so cute together it was a pleasure seeing them together after that she often staid in our house the night and some times even for few day we all adored her then about four weeks later they told us she was pregnant and even thought we felt he was too young only just turned 18 day before his return from Europe we wore supportive and she was also only just over a year older then him but still too young and we felt they don't know each other well enough we decided that we will support them after all we love our son and we will do anything for him , we wore going to be grandparents , maybe sooner then we expected but with our support we thought our son and his girlfriend will be able to still finish university. My shows up with her soon after saying her mum kicked her out of home and she has no where to stay could she stay with as for a little while till she figures out what to do . My husband and I agreed and the same day she moved in . I felt so sorry for her what she told me about her mum and family in general I just wanted to give her as much love and attention to at least try to make her feel better . She was kind and friendly we accepted her us our own . Sadly they lost the baby and it was just sad and unpleasant time for all and most of all for her . No long after we had my cousin and her husband move in with us and my sons girlfriend still friendly with as became more and more sad , She still complained about her family that wore giving her hard time she left school saying she only did that because her mum wanted her to be a nurse she wanted something else she didn't want to live her mum's dream . I loved her and was feeling great sadness for her her according to her story everyone gave her hard time disrespected her ,gave her hard time . She didn't know her father she wanted to write to him but didn't know how and was worried he will ignore or refuse her . My home was fool of people and all I did was cook clean after everyone go to work come home and it wasn't easy she was sad now all the time I was there for her even thought at times it was all too much for me I was there for them . My cousin cooked 5 times in three moths she lived with as my daughter in law 4 times in eight moths that she lived with as . and even when they were cooking it was after me to serve and wash up no one ever did anything and I newer complained I simply sometimes had to live some work for next day or just do things at night . When she was sad and crying my son would come to me asking to please talk to her I always left everything as I would for any of my kids to talk to her . Then I noticed that more and more often she stays in their room when my son is not there but when with us she would still be sweet and polite so I assumed she has problems with her mum , she has started seeing her mum and other family again by that time but was still complaining about them allot I was there when she wanted to talk but when she closes her self in a room or it didn't seem to me as she is willing to talk after I asked if everything is OK I backed off just as I do with my own kids thinking she will talk if she needs to . First valentines day I paid for a weekend away for her and my son and that morning before leaving for work I left box of chocolates for them she sent message when she woke up to me saying how lucky they both are to have me and my husband in their life and how she wishes her family is more like that . I remember thinking after reading that sms how lucky I am I already have three perfect children and now my future daughter in law so kind and lovely as well all hard work didn't seem so bad . Little did I know that all this time wile I was thinking how perfect everything was she has capt my son up late most of the night crying she wanted to move out weekend way that I arranged for then she used to fight with him for not wanting to move out , my son was worried he did have a job but since he is so young his pay is only small he didn't feel his ready at home they had free food free roof over their had what they earn was for their own pleasure he wanted to enjoy that as long as possible . Then one day he told as that his living we said you not a prisoners here if you want to move out fine if it doesn't work you can always come back but seeing him cry I we also said you don't have to it is up to you . We wore sad but we help them . But she changed from that tha

i got my tongue pierced 10 days ago. it was hell the first like 6 days but its all good now, the swelling has come down mostly all of the way. it doesnt hurt at all anymore and the long bar is getting uncomfortable. just wondering how soon i can change to the shorter bar

When I get sad/depressed I get bad headaches?

Not always. It takes a lot for me to get headaches. For example; whenever I talk to my boyfriend, who is suicidal, and he's in a bad mood, I feel so bad it physically and emotionally hurts. This is gonna sound cheesy, but it's not me really feeling the pain for myself, it's feeling it for him. It's unpleasant, but the whole time I just worry about HIM and it's like he's my other half, and I'm just experiencing his pain. It's sooo hard to explain, you probably won't get it. I get all choked up, my chest gets heavy and it's hard to breath, and I get bad headaches that only go away with medication and I cry. The same thing happens when I get really frustrated, too. I looked this up for a while and it seems I'm alone in this. Has anyone else experienced this, or is there something wrong with me?

Can i join the army if i cant salute?

Ok so you are all probably wondering why i cant salute. well i shell tell you ok so when i was 15 years old i was chasing my little bro down drive way at full speed and at the time we had a big storage room with really cheep windows and i mean if you hit it with a pebble they would shatter into thousands of peaces or if you slammed the door hard enough the window would brake so any way back to the story my little bro ran in to that storage room and slammed the door in my face so my reaction was to put my right hand out to stop myself from running into the door but my hand missed the frame and went through the window at first i thought i was ok but then i saw my bro just standing there shaking saying your wrist your wrist so i look down just to see i had just cut my arteries,nerves and tendons so after being brought to the ER and haveing 5 surgery's and 11/2 years of physical therapy i finely was able to use my hand agen but the only thing i cant do is move my fingers sideways and the doc said they did all they can do for me. So do i have to be able to solute in order to join the military. ps this is not a joke so please do not joke around this is my dream i want to serve.

Should i see go to the er for a toothache?

Ive been having a really bad tooth ache for about a week now and i havent been able to sleep because of it. ive also tryed everything from orajel to home remeedies. Does it sound like I might have a blood clot? please read, I'm freaking out!?

Well yesterday morning I woke up at about 6 and I had this excrutiating pain under my left breast in the top of my ribs. I thought it was just gas but the pain hurt sooo bad and felt like it was going up by my heart and my shoulder. I was also extremely and oddly gassy the whole day yesterday. The ER told me that it sounded like I could have possibly had a blood clot or inflammation. They gave me an EKG which was normal, then said they wanted to check my blood for a blood clot and I freaked out and refused cause I'm scared of bad news AND the pain went away. Since the pain went away and I was extremely gassy (and still are for some reason) do you think the pain was linked to gas? Does it sound like the pain was due to a blood clot?? I'm also 21.

I am military and have been dealing with pain from two bulging discs in my lower back since Easter.?

First it started with a numb leg with sharp shooting pains and tingling and pain, then my foot started hurting when input pressure on it, the military sent me to a neurologist that said I have meragia prosthetica which is associated with obesity (I'm 110 lbs) pregnancy and diabetes which I don't have and sent mr for an MRI. MRI showed slight bulge in l4 l5 and l5 s1 which wasn't significant enough to do anything about. Since then it's gotten so much worse my back is killing me feels like a truck has ran over me. They next sent me to pain mngmnt which said he couldn't diagnose me and that I needed a full neurological work up so I went back to base and they out in a referral to a teaching hospital which needed two weeks to decide I'f they would even take me so then I went back to dr on base and found out they denied me, so now my dr on base says he don't know what to do that I need to find a neurologist and he'd out the federal in for me. I'm at my wits end and in extreme amount of pain they won't give me any meds since I had disc fusion in dec and have been on lortab since which don't work at all and I feel like the military isn't helping me. I can barely walk can't work lost my job over this can hardly make my bills and don't know what to do! Please help! What can I do next, I'm a military dependent and I don't know where else to go went to er twice and they won't do anything either just sent me away. I just need out of pain. I can't sleep I'm starting to get ( sorry graphic) constipated now and I'm totally lost I think it's gotten worse but they won't do another MRI. Please any advise would help thanks

What kind of guitar should I buy?

I am an ex-smoker and I would not have considered it rude when I was smoking. It's quite right for a child to make such a statement and quite right for a parent to acknowledge that they are correct. How do I convince my orthopedic to cast my foot?

The only thing that casting will help is if he needs to reset and keep your foot in place. Casting won't stop the pain, only RICE will. Try resting and your doctor can determine if you need a cast. Plus, casts suck. It's the middle of summer.... Trust me, you don't want sweaty stinky cast for the next eight weeks. I have experience in that area!!!

I have scholosis (spell?) and just found out I have severe cervical dysplasia. I have been stressed and have really bad anxiety. It isnt bend over cant move pain just kinda uncomfortable. Infected dog bite with pus?

i got bit by a dog saturday, and it was pretty bad it sucked BIGG time...but anyways when i went to the ER instead of doing stitches they put on derma bond (aka medical super glue) and its been healing well, swellings gone down and the bruise isn't as noticiable but now there's puss on it and it looks really gross but when i went to my regular doctor today for a follow up appointment she saw the pus there and said it was okay because there is no other signs of an infection, plus im taking a antibiotic so my question is, is puss ALWAYS a bad sign?

My Dog is not eating, and...........?

I have a 4 year old Shar Pei, and he has been in great health until this week. On Sunday, he threw up bile and little bit of food, which was no issue. Everything looked normal, no temp, little lethargic but nothing severe. On Monday, he was not eating and threw up brown poo smelling stuff. Took him to the ER vet right away, they checked him out, no bowel obstruction, no significant issues with his blood work. All showing that he stomach was upset but no blockage. It has now been 4 days since the initial incident and going back to the vet today. Does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? I am at a loss and it's killing me to see my dog in so much pain. Driving without ABS fuse?

A few days ago I had to make a hard stop in my 2000 Mercury Grand Marquis. The anti-lock braking system activated just as it should as this was a very abrupt stop from a relatively high speed. The problem is that since I made that hard stop, my ABS has been activating during normal stops, periodically between 15 and 0 mph. Whether it needs a new sensor somewhere, or a new control module, or what, I do not know, all I know is that I need to get it checked out as soon as I can afford to, and have the time off from work, and I know there's no use speculating about it in the meantime really. It doesn't seem healthy for the car to have the brakes going into ABS mode so often, and during such normal stops, if you have experienced ABS before you know it makes unpleasant grinding noises and you get pulsing vibrating pedal feedback during an ABS stop. I figured, to prevent further wear or damage to whatever is wrong with the ABS system -until I can have it looked at- I could simply remove the corresponding fuse, and drive the vehicle just like anyone would drive a vehicle without the ABS and traction control features. To test this I went to a secluded road, pulled the fuse, and drove, making a few hard stops, and a few normal stops, to make sure the brakes still functioned. The brakes were as strong as ever. The question is, would driving without the fuse for the ABS/traction control in for a while cause any damage to anything else, or any undue wear to a system I might not be aware of?

What could be causing my Bowel problems?

I had my appendix removed in April. They also removed adhesions that were making my intestines stick to my abdominal wall. 2 weeks after, I start having less bowel movements. I would have a small one maybe once per week. I've had a lot of bloating and pressure and burning type pain in my abdomen. Went to ER a few days ago. They did an enema. It barely worked. The next day I drank a bottle of magnesium citrate. All that came out was water and a few small stools. I did an enema the next day. I had a medium sized movement. Mostly liquid. Yesterday I had a small regular. My stool has been green for a few days. Haven't eaten anything green or food coloring blue. Still very bloated feeling. It hurts in gallbladder/liver area. Gallbladder removed 5 years ago. I'm always tired and sleepy. No energy at all. Also get cold easily. Could adhesions have grown back and constricting my intestines? What should I do? I'm sure the doc will just blow it off. ER said my entire colon was packed with stool. I don't have the urge to go. Appetite is small also. Think I need surgery? By the way, I've been trying stool softeners, milk of magnesia, enema, magnesium citrate, more water, more fiber, and more exercise. Nothing at all is helping.

Medical malpractice question...?

Ok, in short, a friend of mine went to the ER for a UTI and was prescribed 10 days worth of Cipro. It's now past the ten days & she still isn't better, in fact, she's worse. So she called for an appointment with her OBGYN, but she was told there was no information on a urine culture to determine said uti. So, my question is...how can a doctor prescribe a medication without doing the proper test? And could the fact that my friend is worse off be due to being prescribed Cipro?

Adults need to have 2 screws in their Schwarz plates because 1 screw will not be effective enough. Expansion of the palate should lower the palatal vault and increase the airway thereby making breathing easier. If your mandible is retruded (a Class II) then repositioning it forward should also improve the airway. I suggest going to a functional orthodontist because they are more familiar with sleep apnea problems than traditional orthodontists. Expansion in adults is not stable and means that a retainer will need to be worn at bed time forever. Mandibular translation can be done at most any age and being 26 years old should not be a problem and will be stable. Surgery should always be considered an option of last resort.

Sudden love for hot/spicy food?!?

I have never liked hot food.. i couldn't stand it but recently after being sick i have been craving it. I can hardly eat anything now without hot sauce. Is this an indicator that something is wrong with me? My tastes have changes so dramatically that i used to drink coke every day and now it's almost unpleasant. Also coffee which was part of my every day makes me feel sick just thinking of it. What kind of PA equipment does my band need?

I'm starting a hardcore band (stuff like old Thrice, Oh Sleeper, Refused, Greeley Estates, etc) and I need to get some mics and PA equipment, but I don't know what I need. Help! Lethargic,pain,nausea,numbness… of appetite what is this?

Ok. About 2 months ago I hurt my back working in my yard. So bad that I thought I was paralyzed the next day because I could not move at all. I ended up going to the ER and they suggested a MRI. Well, I couldn't afford that. So I just dealt with it and now I can get around fine but I have a constant numbness and tingling in my fingers of my left hand. Then last week I think I moved wrong or twisted a neck muscle. It was a shooting pain followed by a sort of black out and dizziness. Since then I have felt increased neck and back pain, nausea, decreased appetite, numbness in my right hand that comes and goes (worse at night) along with the numbness I already had in my left hand, joint and muscle pain and severe lethargy. I know this is a lot but and any help would be great on figuring out what is going on here.

Do I have Epilepsy or some other neurological disease?

I keep get these weird sensations that feel like electric pulses continuously zapping my head. For whatever reason, it also arises when I move my eyes to the upper most extreme areas. At their worst, my body spazzes out involuntarily and the pulses increase in magnitude. I've also been suffering from sleep paralysis, and when dreaming, I occasionally lose control over my character's movements, either slamming violently against a wall or on the ground. Sometimes, it leads me to running into walls as though gravitated by some anomalous force propelling me towards it. Very unpleasant, and sometimes very painful. What could be going wrong? I'm on a couple anti-psychotics myself, and would like to discern whether or not it is related.

Okay so here's my dilemma, i have a wonderful dad who married a completely unpleasant women. Basically it all started when i was in 7th grade and my step mom went snooping through my room and read my diary. Now as what a 12 or 13 year old girl who is upset with her step mom for complaining about turning a light switch on too loud and writes in her diary, " i sometimes wish she would go far far away." that doesnt really seem like an intelligent adult would start a war over that, but mine did. she swore i was out to get her. Now granted i felt bad that i hurt her feelings so i did try over the years to be nice and help out around the house, but it was never good enough. My step mom is a cold unhappy person. and its not just me she hates. she picks fights with my aunts, hates all my uncles, and complains about every one. My family has tried everything to counseling to vacation bonding. I have done everything i possibly can too, despite the fact she came at with a knife, spit on me, told me i should kill myself, and slammed me against a mirror when i was thirteen. My uncles and brother think im crazy for even pitying her still and trying to be nice. I need some outside the box opinions and advice, what do i do to make this woman like me? I tolerate her for one reason and one reason alone, my dad and baby sister. My dad is getting older and i dont want him to be alone all his life, and my baby sister who is technically my half sister from my dad and step mom, i love her with all my heart. and as having to be a child that was stuck in the middle of a nasty divorce, i would never want that for her. divorces hurt. Im almost 20 now and i still wish i had had a mother who knew how to love her family. so folks, what do i need to do? failure and giving up really isnt an option. i need to do something to make this unpleasant women back off a bit.

My step son comes to live with us in the summer, and visits us in the winter. We live in Minnesota and he is in Texas during the school year. I have Sleeping problems?

I'm your classic teenager. I stay up late at night and sleep in during the summer. I've noticed something strange though. I'll stay up for over 35 hours at a time, and not be tired. I'll try to sleep, but I usually sit there for hours at a time, with no sleep. If I do sleep its for only a few hours at a time. Then I'll stay awake for another extremely extended amount of time. Its been about a week of this odd sleeping schedule and I've noticed other things as well. I've an immense decrease in appetite, and I feel sick if I eat to much. I force myself to drink enough water, even if it upsets my stomach.When I do eat I try to eat fruits and vegetables, things that are healthy, with things packed with fat and protein. Due to this I've lost a considerable amount of weight and it is begging to worry me. I have an odd little bruises on my leg. I also have extreme headaches that come on gradually. I'm paler than I usually am. I also have a unpleasant tugging sensation in my neck whenever I move it in one way or another. I'm not depressed, I'm actually really happy. My period was over two weeks ago, so I know it's not that. I'm not anorexic or bulimic, and I haven't had a history of it, nor have I ever had trouble sleeping. I get my meds in pain management and they have a strict policy of no refills early, even if they are stolen (WITH a police report). A friend just came over and he is prescribed Oxycodone HCL 5 mg, and he said that they were basically the same thing that I am taking. I only need a couple as I can get my refill in a few days. so, is this the same as it, or is what he wants me to have considered Oxycontin? I'm very nervous about taking meds that aren't prescribed to me, but the ER or anything else is out of the question. I just wanted to know if this truly is the same thing that I am prescribed? And is it time release or instant release, because I don't know how I should responsibly take it if I even choose to do so. Any help would be wonderful.

Arowanas don't like pellets much.They prefer frozen or live brine shrimp, bloodworms, and blackworms and feeder goldfish 3 x a day when small. Pellets give them a slightly more well rounded diet, but some of them are very hard to get off live food. i would try keeping your feeders around for a few days and feed them pellets until they get sort of fat, and the Arowana may make the changeover by association.

Random abortion dream. Please Help!?

Which is Better For PCOS?

I am currently taking Metformin 2000mg a day (one in the morning and one in the afternoon) but sometimes I forget one of the dosage. So I spoke to my doctor and he suggested I get the Metformin ER (extended release). I just have to take it once a day. Whenever I "colorify" something in GIMP, the color is always too dark! Almost grey-er. I tried to change the hue/saturation, but that changed the actual color. How can I make the color the TRUE color? Thanks :)

Ok so last summer i was on vacation and we saw a big fireworks show. on the way to the hotel from there it was harder to breath and then i started shaking uncontroably. I could talk and i knew what was going on, but i couldn't stop shaking. it happened a lot that week and then when we got back it stopped for a few months until i watched the titanic. It all sarted again. it goes away in like about a half hour to 2 hours it really depends. after it happens i am really weak and tired. Just recently i went to a babysitting class and was there until lunch but then i got up to get my lunch and i grabbed on to my friend and told her i didnt feel good. i felt like i was and wasnt there like it almost felt like a dream. i was shaky but not uncontrlable. i went to the ER and they did blood test and gave me an iv and they didnt find anything wrong with me. then i went to dance and i felt almost like i had a fever and i got pale and felt that like dreamy feeling again but not as bad so i just left it alone and if someone asked i told them i felt feverish and thats it. i got home and i was soooo tired after that. do thhese sound like seizures to you?

I am unsure if I am pregnant?

Please help me I am very confused. I took 5 pregnancy tests yesterday && they were all positive. But I went to this free place that gives you tests and that test was negative so I went out && bought a E.P.T. the best test to get. It was also positive. I also started my period today but it runs in my family to have a period while pregnant. I have called around to find a doctor but they won't let me in without medical insurance. && the ER won't do pregnancy tests. Im a 15 yr old female, and Ive never really felt like there was something or anything wrong with me. The last couple of months, I've been depressed and having what I think is "Anxiety". I recently was forced to move away from all my friends to another state and start a new school, When I first moved here I was having terrible headaches(stabbing pain in my head, it felt like something was moving or growing!)and was seriously considering that I had a brain tumor or something, and I was even afraid to fall to sleep at night because I thought that I might not wake up. (my step dad was forcibly removed from our home,((long story)) so we had to move here to be closer to family, thats what i thought was causing the stress...?) after a while the heaches had gone away, but Now Ive been having different headaches that have been making it difficult to do anything, anymore. My eyes hurt from light(even something thts not very bright) my head hurt worse if one of my brothers or sisters were arguing or screaming at eachother......I had a very short fuse, and would go off on anybody....well I finally convinced my mom to take me to the ER....I had a C.A.T. scan and they said there was nothing wrong, they gave me a prescription for Tylenol/codeine...and sent me on my way. The pills werent really doing anything, except taking away the pain from that specific spot, and moving it to another. Now, about 2 or 3 weeks later, I'm starting to having Jabbing pains in my heart, coming from under neath of my heart, it feels like....(Ive had these before in recent months, my pediatrician said they were growing pains or something...?)....sometimes at night I get freezing cold, my teeth chatter and my muscles in my thighs shake, during the headaches I get pains in my neck, or the bottom of my spine, my ears wont "Pop", and it feels like something's pulling at the back of my eyes, making them Hurt. But right now, im having a pain in my temple, and the ear on that side(left) hurts and feels like a strong ear infection coming on, my stomch also feels weird.....I've also been "Panicky" thinking about death, or how I might die at any second....idk, is there anyone who can tell me whats wrong with me?? My friends thinks its a sinus infection or something, but im not sure....(oh and ive also been having weird pain or kinda throbbing on both sides of my jaw bone, its not that painful but now thats got me deathly afraid and thinking i have LOCK JAW or something...) everyone around me calling me a drama queen and saying i'm just lying for attention is not really helping the situation.....I just sit alone and cry all the time because i don't know whats wrong with me......Can someone tell me????Im srry this is so long...:\

Er or doctors office?

My husband has had a headache for more than 24 hours now. He took 4 bc powers throughout the day yesterday with no release and some advil last night that also did not help. He rarely gets headache but when he dose they only last a few hours and are helped by bc power. Last night he said he didn't feel good but he looked fine, about a min later I looked at him again he was pale white and pouring sweat. He couldnt sleep last night. I have been with him for 4 years he has NEVER called into work sick except for today and he only goes to a dr when I make him and spend a few days bugging him about it. He told me he wants to see dr today and wasn't getting outa bed till it was time to go to the dr. So this has me very worried. My question is... What type of dr would he see for this or should I take him to the ER?

I was treated for BV. I really didn't know I had it until i noticed an unpleasant odor after sex. I read online to apply yogurt and also eat yogurt which was fine. I don't have any other symptoms lie discharge or itchiness. It was just that one time with the odor. Like a fishy smell (sorry to gross anyone out). It went away after applying the yogurt. The next month i noticed it come back but very light. Then the next month again. It seems to be happening only the 2nd and 3rd day after my period finishes but only after sex. I took Flagyl pills for 5 days. The doctor did not prescribe any creams. When I finished it, i noticed after my period again on the 2nd and 3rd day there is only a slight very very slight change in the way it smells down there. Nothing crazy only I can notice since I know how my body is. So my question is (since my doctor is closed today I can not call)...... 1.) Does that mean the Flagyl didn't work? 2.) Did I also need to take a cream with the pills? And 3.) She said my husband didn't need to take any pills but is that true? Does he really need to? Why do you think this is? I wash with water all the time when i use the bathroom and after sex. I don't douche since I heard that is bad. Is it the sperm that is doing that? Any suggestions? I noticed it right after i finished the medication too so i thought it would help. i am negative for all other things
