How harmful was the hair spray incident i just had?

My toddler spilled dove hairspray on carpet.I cleaned with bare hands using some papertowels.Cleaned thoroughly thrice.Made some dough and already done eating.And now hands are burning a little.Why and tell me iam overreacting(iam a worrier) and its all fine.Please.
