My mom is having bad contractions?!?

About an hour ago they started and they were about 5 minutes apart and there was 5. Then they stoped and now they started and theyve been 2-3 minutes apart and alot like 7! I don't know what to do! She's laying down! Me and her are alone but many friends who live near offered to take her to the ER. help??! Is she going into labor?!
