Is my cat playing around?

I've got a 2 month old cat that is a little bit more aggressive than I would like it to be. I have no problem with playing around with him, but he is starting to bite harder and his ears are folded back when messes around. Today, I was woken up with a scratch to the face, nothing serious but still unpleasant. Any cat experts know what to do?
